Viscose Fabric

Viscose is made from a raw fibre called rayon and was first named viscose in 1894. To create viscose fibres of rayon are placed in to a machine which uses a wet-spin process to turn the raw fibre into a useable fabric. Viscose can be manipulated to feel like other fabrics such as silk and wool, but being generated from cellulose fibres it is more like linen or cotton. Viscose is renowned for being strong and resistive to damage, making it ideal for clothes and upholstery. Viscose is relatively cheap and is washable but only on a cool wash, as any heat will make it shrink. Similarly to cotton, viscose fabric wrinkles when warn due to the amount of moisture it absorbs.
